Already November?
November is shaping up to be a busy month for us at SF! Then again, what month isn’t busy?
First, SpiderForest has an important announcement for all interested parties:
The network will be accepting applications to join the SpiderForest Collective starting Decemeber 1st. NOW is the time to start thinking about your application here. If you haven’t started a comic yet, but have a great idea on the backburner, be aware we want at LEAST fifteen completed pages to look at, already posted on a site. Please do not send an application with pages linked from a Deviant Art account. Webcomic pages are meant to be read in succession, and reading yours should not be a trial, scouring your gallery for the next page. More details can be found on our “apply” page, as well as information about free places to go to host your comic in the meantime.
Al-X would like to announce that his comic, Nahast: Lands of Strife is six years old as of November 2nd! That is simply amazing for any webcomic. Congratulations! Here is something from Al-X himself:
“I chose Nov 2nd to start because it’s the main Day of the Dead here in México. It’s my favorite holiday and one of the most traditional ones, still surviving the vicious cultural battle against Halloween, a U.S. import ^^
Nahast’s next chapter will actually give readers a peek into the Region of the Dead, the mythic, underground realm where the dead start their pilgrimage into the afterlife.”
Perk_daddy of Cooties has also volunteered to organize a 2008 Christmas Art Swap for us! All comics with established characters and/or stories are welcome to participate, regardless of what network you are hosted on! Please sign up here if you are interested! We need to start a list now so we are organized by December.
Last, though certainly not least, November is National Novel Writing Month! If you are participating in this world-wide challenge to write a 50,000-word novella inside a single month, come vent with us at SpiderForest! TregorySullivan of Sex Percussions and KEZ of The War of Winds and Not Alone have decided to try [once again]. Wish them luck!
